Bruno Fernandes Hat-Trick Fires Man United to 5-2 Comeback Win Over Ipswich
Manchester United claimed their first Premier League win of the season with a dramatic 5-2 comeback victory over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford, inspired by a Bruno Fernandes hat-trick.
Ipswich made the brighter start and stunned the hosts when Leif Davis fired home a superb finish after good work from Abdul Fatawu. United hit back before the break when a defensive slip from Marcelino Núñez let Matheus Cunha in to tee up Fernandes, who drilled home the equaliser.
United took control after the restart. Harry Maguire's effort deflected in off Jacob Greaves for the lead, and Greaves then conceded a penalty which Fernandes confidently converted. The United captain completed his hat-trick soon after, with Ipswich unable to respond as United ran out comfortable 5-2 winners to open their account for the season.
