What is the Tournament Bracket Generator?

The Tournament Bracket Generator creates professional-standard single and double elimination brackets for any sport, instantly. Enter your team names, pick your format, and get a fully drawn bracket with match IDs, seeding order, bye handling, and score tracking — no account, no install, no cost.

Seeding follows international standard theory: in an 8-team bracket, matches are drawn as (1 vs 8), (4 vs 5), (3 vs 6), (2 vs 7) — ensuring the two top seeds can only meet in the Final. Byes are automatically calculated for non-power-of-2 team counts using the formula: Byes = 2^⌈log₂(n)⌉ − n. So 6 teams get a bracket of 8 with 2 byes auto-assigned to the top seeds.

Double Elimination follows the GSL format used in esports and professional tournaments worldwide — every team gets a second chance in the Losers Bracket before being eliminated. Only two losses end a team's run, giving lower-seeded teams a genuine path to the title.

How to Use the Bracket Generator

Choose Team Count: Select how many teams are in your tournament — 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, or 16. Non-powers-of-2 automatically get byes assigned.

Choose Format: Single Elimination: one loss and you're out — fast and simple. Double Elimination: two losses required — gives every team a second chance and is fairer for skill-based events.

Enter Team Names: Type your team names in seed order. Seed 1 is your top team. The bracket automatically places them so top seeds meet only in later rounds. Hit Shuffle Seeds to randomise seeding.

Generate & Track Scores: Click Generate Bracket. As matches are played, enter scores in the score boxes and click the ★ star to mark the winner. The bracket updates to reflect results.
