Goal Scoring Rate Calculator
Calculate goal scoring rate and efficiency for football players
What is a Goal Scoring Rate Calculator?
Goal scoring rate โ or goals per match โ is the most direct measure of an attacking player's output in football. It tells you how efficiently a player or team converts playing time into goals. A striker scoring 0.5 goals per match over a full season (19 goals in 38 matches) is performing at a very high international standard. The same metric applied at team level tells you how clinical a side is in front of goal.
This calculator goes beyond simple goals per match by also computing goals per 90 minutes played โ the standard unit in professional football analytics since it accounts for players who are frequently substituted. A player who scores 12 goals in 1,200 minutes has a goals-per-90 of 0.90 โ genuinely elite output regardless of how many matches they started or finished.
Assists are included to produce a combined goal contribution rate (G+A per match and per 90). This broader metric better captures players like traditional number 10s or wide creators who may not top the scoring charts but drive the team's attacking output consistently. Use this to compare players across different clubs, leagues, or eras.
