Harmanpreet Kaur Becomes 4th Indian Captain to Win a Test at Lord's, After Kapil Dev, Dhoni and Kohli

Harmanpreet Kaur has become only the fourth Indian captain, and the first woman, to lead a side to a Test win at Lord's, joining a list that includes some of the biggest names in Indian cricket history.

India's win over England Women at the Home of Cricket puts Harmanpreet alongside Kapil Dev, who led India to their first-ever Test win at Lord's back in 1986, MS Dhoni, who did it in 2014, and Virat Kohli, who added to the list in 2021. Harmanpreet's name now joins theirs from 2026, making it four wins across 40 years for India at the historic ground.

It's a fitting way to cap a tournament in which Harmanpreet also starred with the bat, having earlier become the first woman to register a half-century at Lord's across all three international formats, a feat only a handful of men's cricketers have managed.

With this win, Harmanpreet cements her place not just as one of India's finest captains in the women's game, but as a name that now sits in the same breath as some of Indian cricket's most iconic leaders when it comes to conquering Lord's.
