T Natarajan Returns to Sunrisers Hyderabad as Delhi Capitals Get Zeeshan Ansari in First IPL 2027 Trade

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals have completed a player trade ahead of IPL 2027. Left-arm pacer T Natarajan returns to Sunrisers. Leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari moves to Delhi in exchange. The IPL confirmed the deal on Wednesday, October 14. It is the first trade of the pre-season.

The money changes on both sides. Natarajan rejoins Sunrisers at a revised fee of Rs 5 crore. Delhi had bought him for Rs 10.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. Ansari goes to Delhi at his existing fee of Rs 40 lakh.

This is a homecoming for Natarajan. He played five seasons for Sunrisers, from 2020 to 2024. He was a regular part of their pace attack in that time. Delhi signed him in 2025, but he played only two matches for them that season. He has played 73 IPL matches in all, for three franchises: Punjab Kings, Sunrisers and Delhi.

Ansari is 26 years old. He made his IPL debut for Sunrisers in 2025 against Delhi, and he took 3 wickets on debut. He played 10 matches that season and finished with 6 wickets. His economy rate was 9.84. The Uttar Pradesh leg-spinner had earlier taken 24 wickets in 12 matches in the inaugural UP T20 League. He was also part of India's Under-19 group in 2016, alongside Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan and Sarfaraz Khan.

The trade gives Delhi another option in their spin department. It comes a day after the franchise officially announced Yuvraj Singh as assistant and batting coach. He will work under head coach Sourav Ganguly. Delhi are still chasing their first IPL title. Sunrisers, meanwhile, get an experienced bowler back in their pace attack.

There are still several months before the new season. IPL 2027 is set to run from March 10 to May 15, 2027. Both franchises will now plan around their new additions.
