Thoi Singh's Late Equaliser Earns Inter Kashi 1-1 Draw With Odisha FC in ISL

Inter Kashi and Odisha FC played out a 1-1 draw in the Indian Super League at the Balewadi Stadium (Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex) in Pune on Saturday, October 17. Huidrom Thoi Singh scored a stunning equaliser in the 89th minute, earning both clubs their first point of the 2026-27 season.

Both teams came into the match after defeats in their opening fixtures. Inter Kashi had lost 2-0 to Kerala Blasters on October 11, while Odisha had been beaten 2-1 by Punjab FC, conceding a goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Inter Kashi, coached by Carlos Vaz Pinto, are playing the ISL this season with an all-Indian squad. Odisha are coached by TG Purushothaman.

The first half was goalless, although both teams created chances. Inter Kashi tested Odisha's defence early on through Sajad Parray and Wayne Vaz. Parray's left-footed shot from outside the box went wide, and Vaz also missed the target after being set up by Jitendra Singh.

Odisha took the lead in the 56th minute through an own goal. Inter Kashi defender Pratik Chaudhari turned the ball into his own net, and the visitors looked set to take all three points.

The hosts did not give up. Substitutions helped them, as Ayush Chikara, Aritra Das and Aphaoba Singh all played a part in the late pressure. Inter Kashi kept pushing, and the reward came in the 89th minute. Following a set piece, Thoi Singh found space in the centre of the penalty area and hit a left-footed first-time shot into the bottom-left corner to make it 1-1.

Inter Kashi searched for a winner in the closing stages, but Aritra Das's direct free kick sailed high and wide. Neither side could find another goal, and the match finished level.

The point is Inter Kashi's first of the 2026-27 ISL season. The club earned its first-ever ISL point in March 2026, in a draw with FC Goa, in the previous campaign. For Odisha, it is also their first point of the new season.
