China and South Korea Share Triathlon and Modern Pentathlon Golds

China and South Korea shared the triathlon and modern pentathlon titles at the Asian Games, with Japan's Takumi Hojo the lone gold medallist to break up the two nations' dominance.

In triathlon, Hojo won the men's individual title ahead of China's Xirui Zhang, while China's Xinyu Lin won the women's race and topped the mixed relay podium as well. In modern pentathlon, South Korea and China split the individual titles, with Liuchang Li winning men's gold for China and Seungmin Seong taking women's gold for Korea, before the two nations swapped positions in the team events, Korea winning men's team gold and China topping the women's team standings.
