Samuel Lino Scores First Two Brazil Goals as Five-Star Brazil Beat India 4-0
Brazil beat India 4-0 in Kolkata, with Samuel Lino scoring his first two international goals either side of strikes from Estevao and Pedro, in the first senior men's meeting between the two countries.
India held their own for the opening 25 minutes in front of 51,402 fans at the Salt Lake Stadium, but Brazil took control from the 28th minute, when Estevao opened the scoring. Pedro doubled the lead in the 42nd minute, hitting the post with a header before converting moments later. Lino, introduced as part of Carlo Ancelotti's rotated side, struck in the 58th minute and again in stoppage time to complete the scoreline, never needing to get out of second gear.
India captain Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, playing his 90th international, had a difficult night in goal as India's bright start faded. The result leaves India winless in four matches against South American opposition, having also lost to Peru and Uruguay in the past. Brazil remain unbeaten since their World Cup exit to Norway in June.
