India Women Name 15-Member Squad for Zimbabwe T20Is and ODIs, Smriti Mandhana Captains in First Assignment

The BCCI has announced India Women's squad for the home series against Zimbabwe, covering both the T20I and ODI legs. Smriti Mandhana will lead the side in her first assignment as captain across formats, with Deepti Sharma named vice-captain. The same 15-member squad has been picked for both series.

Here is the full squad:

• Captain: Smriti Mandhana (c)
• Vice-captain: Deepti Sharma (vc)
• Batters: Shafali Verma, Pratika Rawal, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol, Tejal Hasabnis
• Wicketkeepers: Richa Ghosh (wk), Yastika Bhatia (wk)
• Bowlers: Vaishnavi Sharma, Nandni Sharma, Sree Charani, Kranti Gaud, Sayali Satghare, Renuka Thakur

The squad comes just hours after the BCCI confirmed Mandhana as India's new all-format captain, following Harmanpreet Kaur's decision to step down from the role. Harmanpreet remains in the side as a batter, which gives the new captain a hugely experienced player to lean on during the transition. Deepti Sharma, one of the senior all-rounders in the group, takes on the vice-captain's role.

The opening pair looks set to be the familiar combination of Mandhana and Shafali Verma, with Pratika Rawal and Harleen Deol adding depth at the top. Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia are the two wicketkeeper options. The bowling attack has plenty of variety, with the pace of Renuka Thakur, Kranti Gaud and Sayali Satghare supported by the spin of Sree Charani, Vaishnavi Sharma and Nandni Sharma. Among the notable names missing from the group is Jemimah Rodrigues.

This will be the first-ever bilateral series between India and Zimbabwe women, and Zimbabwe's first tour of India. The three T20Is will be played in Raipur, followed by three ODIs in Baroda. The ODI leg forms part of the ICC Women's Championship 2025-29. It will also be India's first home ODI assignment since the 2025 World Cup triumph.
