Sevilla Beat Osasuna 2-0 to End Winless Run
Sevilla beat Osasuna 2-0 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Monday, October 26, in round 10 of LaLiga. Isaac Romero scored in the 24th minute and Félix Correia added the second in the 82nd. Youssouf Fofana set up both goals.
Osasuna made the better start. Ante Budimir had an effort in the fourth minute, and Enzo Boyomo headed wide from a corner. Sevilla then took control with a strong high press. In the 24th minute, Fofana flicked the ball on with his heel. Romero struck it from outside the box, and goalkeeper Aitor Fernández could not stop it. Romero is a Sevilla academy product.
Osasuna tried to respond after the break, but they lacked bite in attack. Juan Iglesias hit the woodwork for Sevilla with an acrobatic effort around the 70th minute. Manu Bueno and Vargas came on for Romero and Ejuke in the 71st minute. Then, with eight minutes left, Fofana started a counter-attack. He found Correia, who finished to make it 2-0.
The win ended a run of three league games without a victory. It was also Sevilla's first win in more than a month. They moved up to 17 points from 10 games and sit sixth, in a European place. It was a good night for head coach Luis García Plaza. Sevilla had lost 2-1 at Osasuna in April, a defeat that left them in the relegation zone.
This ground has been a happy one against Osasuna. Sevilla won the home meeting last season too, 1-0 in November 2025, thanks to a penalty from Rubén Vargas. This time they were comfortable winners.
Sevilla started with Odysseas Vlachodimos in goal and Lucas Stassin alongside Romero up front. Romero was booked in the 55th minute. Alejandro Catena and Rosier were booked for Osasuna.
Osasuna stay on 11 points and are 12th. Their away form is a worry. They have conceded 17 of their 20 goals this season in just five games on the road.
