This innovation-driven identity has made it one of the most-watched domestic T20 leagues in the world.

Perth Scorchers have been the league's most successful franchise, winning six titles across the competition's history, with Sydney Sixers close behind on four. The tournament features a round-robin league stage followed by knockout finals to crown the champion each season.

Beyond entertainment value, the BBL has served as an important pathway for young Australian talent and international players to gain experience in a high-pressure franchise format, contributing to its growing global following.
