Series Recap
India completed a commanding 3-0 sweep of Afghanistan in the three-match T20I series, with all three games played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The hosts survived a scare in the opener before Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai's 64 not out threatened an upset, eased to victory in the second game behind Sanju Samson's blistering fifty, and blew the series open in the finale with Abhishek Sharma's record-breaking century.
Afghanistan leaned heavily on Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi throughout, but couldn't consistently match India's batting depth or the variety in India's spin attack. The series decider was the most one-sided of the three, with India posting 221/7 and then bowling Afghanistan out for 94 to seal the win by 127 runs.
The result extends India's unbeaten T20I record against Afghanistan and offers a confidence boost for Shreyas Iyer's side, with a settled young core of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Nitish Kumar Reddy all making strong statements over the three matches.
