How Is a Kho Kho Match Scored?
In Kho Kho a team scores a point for each defender it dismisses while chasing. A match has four turns, so a team's total is the sum of the points from its chasing turns. The team with the higher total at the end of the match wins; if the totals are level, extra turns decide the result.
Enter each team's points for each of the four turns and this calculator totals the match, shows the result and the margin, and splits the points by innings so you can see where the game was won.
How to Use This Calculator
Why Turn-by-Turn Scoring Matters
Because each team chases for two turns, performance in the chasing turns decides the match. A team that clears the defenders quickly in the first innings sets a target the other side must match in the second.
The turn-by-turn breakdown also exposes patterns, such as a team that scores heavily in its first chase but fades in the second, which is important for coaches deciding on defensive pairing and chaser rotation.
?Frequently Asked Questions
A chasing team earns a point each time it dismisses a defender, for example by tagging, a pole dive tag or a Kho that results in a legal out. The points are totalled across the match.
If the scores are level after four turns, the match goes to extra turns, with each team getting a chance to chase, as set out in the competition rules. This calculator marks a tie and does not model extra turns.
Some formats, such as franchise leagues, add bonus points or time-based extras for specific achievements. Enter the final points awarded for each turn in whichever scoring system your competition uses.
In most turns only the chasing team scores, so one side is usually zero. Some competition formats award points to the defending side as well, so both fields are available.
The margin is the absolute difference between the two totals, shown with the winning team. Innings subtotals are also shown so you can see which innings produced the difference.
The calculator is a generic four-turn aggregator, so it works for any format where scores are recorded per turn. If your league has special scoring, enter the final points for each turn.
