About the men's Test team rankings
The ICC men's Test team rankings order every ICC member that plays Test (five-day) cricket by a rating based on recent results. Each team's rating is its total points divided by the number of matches counted, so a team that wins consistently against strong opposition rises, and a team that loses to lower-ranked sides drops.
Test matches are long, so ratings move slowly - a series win or a single standout innings can shift a spot, but a single day rarely does.
Game on Field shows the ICC table as published, with the rank movement since the previous update, so you can see who is climbing and who is slipping.
How to read this table
Rank is the team's position in this format. A green or red arrow next to the rank shows how many places it moved since the last update.
Rating is the headline number the ICC uses to order teams. Points is the running total used to calculate it, so two teams can have a similar rating but very different points if one has played more matches.
