Zimbabwe Name Squad for T20I Tri-Series Against South Africa and Namibia

Zimbabwe have named a 15-member squad for the T20I tri-series against hosts Namibia and South Africa, to be played in Windhoek from August 28 to September 6, with Sikandar Raza continuing as captain.

The headline inclusion is veteran leg-spinner Graeme Cremer, who returns to the setup after recovering from a left-arm injury that had ruled him out of Zimbabwe's recent home series against Bangladesh and India. Uncapped pacer Kundai Matigimu, who has one Test appearance to his name, has also been included in the squad. Veteran batter Brendan Taylor misses out, with his last T20I appearance for Zimbabwe having come against Oman at the T20 World Cup earlier this year.

Zimbabwe will, however, be without two key fast-bowling options. Richard Ngarava, the side's Test and ODI captain, continues his recovery from a lower-back injury, while Tanaka Chivanga remains out after undergoing surgery for an Achilles tendon injury sustained during a practice session.

Zimbabwe open their campaign on August 28 against South Africa, before facing hosts Namibia on August 31. The tournament follows a double round-robin format, with each side facing the others twice before the top two teams meet in the final on September 6. South Africa have named a second-string squad for the tournament, led by Bjorn Fortuin, while Namibia will be captained by Gerhard Erasmus.
