Manav Suthar's 16 wickets, Dhruv Jurel's maiden ton headline India's series depth in Sri Lanka

Devdutt Padikkal's Player of the Series award grabbed the headlines, but India's 1-0 win in Sri Lanka was built on contributions across the squad. Manav Suthar was the standout with the ball, finishing the two-Test series with 16 wickets. He picked up a maiden Test 10-wicket haul in the series opener, running through Sri Lanka's second innings, and followed it up with 6 more wickets in the drawn 2nd Test.

Dhruv Jurel also had a series to remember with the bat. After starting with useful contributions in the 1st Test, he made his first Test century in the 2nd Test, an unbeaten 115 that helped push India past 500 and set up the eventual declaration. His overall tally read 173 runs from three innings.

Rishabh Pant showed his usual fight despite carrying a wrist injury picked up on Day 1 of the 2nd Test. He continued to bat through the pain and still finished with 168 runs across the series, including a fighting 66 in the series opener.

Between Suthar's wickets, Jurel's maiden hundred and Pant's resilience, India's squad depth was a big factor behind Padikkal's headline series and the eventual 1-0 series win.
