Liverpool Continue Ismaila Sarr Pursuit After Crystal Palace Reject £50m Bid

Liverpool remain keen on signing Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr despite an initial £50 million offer being rejected by the Eagles, with the Reds continuing their pursuit of attacking reinforcements before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

Palace made clear they had no intention of selling Sarr this summer, having already turned down two separate approaches from Galatasaray earlier in the window. The Senegal international, who has three years remaining on his contract, enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, scoring 21 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions and playing a starring role in Palace's Europa Conference League triumph, where he was named both the tournament's top scorer and best player. Sarr has also proven a persistent threat against Liverpool specifically, with seven goals in ten appearances against the Merseyside club across his time at Watford and Palace.

The interest in Sarr comes as Liverpool continue searching for a new right-sided attacking option following Mohamed Salah's departure this summer. The club had previously pursued Brighton's Yankuba Minteh, but walked away after the Seagulls demanded £80 million for the Gambian winger, having already seen two lower bids rejected. Liverpool are also continuing to negotiate a separate deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, with sources suggesting an agreement worth around £120 million has been reached for the Frenchman, leaving head coach Andoni Iraola still hopeful of adding further attacking depth alongside that deal.

Sources close to the situation have indicated that reaching personal terms with Sarr would not be a stumbling block should Liverpool return with an improved offer, with the player himself said to be keen on the move.
