Manush Shah and Diya Chitale Win Bronze in Table Tennis Mixed Doubles

Manush Shah and Diya Chitale won India's second-ever Asian Games medal in table tennis mixed doubles, claiming bronze at Sky Hall Toyota after a semi-final defeat to China.

The Indian pair, ranked eighth in the world, went down 8-11, 5-11, 8-11, 2-11 to China's Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha. There is no bronze medal playoff in the event, so their semi-final finish guaranteed them the podium spot regardless of the result.

Shah and Chitale had earlier pulled off the day's biggest upset, beating Hong Kong's world No. 4 pair Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem 3-1 in the quarter-finals to confirm the medal. It is only India's second Asian Games medal in the event, following Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra's bronze at Jakarta 2018.
