Carlos Yulo Wins Two Golds as China and Japan Dominate Gymnastics

China and Japan dominated the Asian Games artistic gymnastics program, sharing almost all of the team and all-around titles, while the Philippines' Carlos Yulo starred individually with two golds of his own.

China's Boheng Zhang retained his men's all-around title, with Japan's Shinnosuke Oka and Daiki Hashimoto completing an all-Japanese podium behind him. Japan hit back through Aiko Sugihara, who won the women's all-around ahead of China's Qinqin Ke. China and Japan then split the team titles, with China winning men's team gold and Japan winning the women's equivalent, denying each other the reverse results.

Yulo won gold in both the men's floor exercise and vault, continuing his record as one of Asian gymnastics' most decorated performers, with his compatriot Karl Jahrel Eldrew Yulo also adding a bronze on the horizontal bar. Individual apparatus golds were otherwise shared between China, Japan, Uzbekistan and South Korea across the pommel horse, rings, parallel bars, uneven bars, balance beam and floor events.
