Alexander Isak Returns to Liverpool Early With Minor Injury

Alexander Isak has left Sweden's Nations League camp early and returned to Liverpool for assessment after picking up a minor injury, despite scoring in a 2-1 win over Romania on Friday.

The striker played the full 90 minutes and opened the scoring in Stockholm before the issue surfaced afterward. Sweden boss Graham Potter described it as "a small problem with his thigh," adding: "It's not a big one, but because of the amount of games we've got in a small space of time, he won't be able to make those."

Isak will miss Sweden's remaining three fixtures in the window and will now be assessed by Liverpool's medical staff at the AXA Training Centre. He has scored five goals in eight matches for club and country this season, and Liverpool will be hopeful he recovers in time to face Manchester City at Anfield on October 11.
