Tom Banton's Maiden Century Powers England to 223-Run Win, Seals ODI Series

Tom Banton struck his maiden ODI century as England beat Sri Lanka by 223 runs in the third ODI at The Oval, sealing the three-match series 2-1.

England posted 355 for 7 after batting first, powered by Banton's 126 off 105 balls. Captain Harry Brook added 77 and Jordan Cox struck a rapid 76 off 52 balls, with the pair sharing a 150-run stand before Cox helped England add 104 in the final 10 overs. Dilhara Fernando was the pick of Sri Lanka's bowlers with 3 for 52.

Chasing 356, Sri Lanka never recovered from an early collapse and were bowled out for just 132 in 29.1 overs. Kusal Mendis top-scored with 35, but wickets fell steadily as Liam Dawson (3-26) and Gus Atkinson (2-26) cleaned up the lower order. The result avenged Sri Lanka's 16-run win in the second ODI at Headingley and gave England the series 2-1, with Will Jacks named Player of the Series for his 147 runs and 9 wickets across the three matches.
