China's Hu Zhaoshan Wins Men's Kayak Single Gold as Canoe Slalom Finals Begin

China's Hu Zhaoshan won the men's kayak single gold in canoe slalom at the Asian Games in Toyota, the first canoe slalom medal event decided at these Games.

Japan's Yuuki Tanaka took silver on home water, with Kazakhstan's Alexandr Korobov claiming bronze. More canoe slalom finals, including the men's and women's canoe single and the kayak cross events, are still to be decided through to October 2.
