Sorato Anraku Defends Boulder Gold, Lee Do-hyun Wins Korea's First Climbing Medal
Japan's Sorato Anraku defended his Asian Games men's boulder title, scoring 74.5 points to beat South Korea's Lee Do-hyun, who finished on 49.7 for a maiden Asian Games boulder medal. Japan's Tomoa Narasaki completed the podium in bronze with 44.9.
Anraku topped three of the four boulder problems before failing to score on the final one, having already built a commanding lead. Lee, who also failed to convert his last attempt, had entered the final fractionally ahead of Anraku in qualifying, finishing first in the semi-final with 99.7 points to Anraku's 99.3. It is Lee's second consecutive Asian Games silver, after finishing runner-up in the combined event at Hangzhou 2023, and Korea's first medal in the sport at these Games.
It is Anraku's second straight Asian Games gold, having won the combined boulder-and-lead event at Hangzhou 2023 in his Games debut.
