Bischof and Wirtz Give Klopp His First Win as Germany Beat Serbia 2-0

Jurgen Klopp earned his first win as Germany head coach, with goals from Tom Bischof and Florian Wirtz giving the hosts a 2-0 Nations League victory over Serbia at the Allianz Arena.

Klopp made wholesale changes to his starting eleven after a difficult start to his tenure, which had brought a draw with the Netherlands and a defeat to Greece in his first two matches. The reshuffled side controlled the game from the outset, with Bischof opening the scoring on his first goal for the senior national team, and Wirtz, who played a part in both goals, sealing the win in the second half.

"I told the boys that this has to be our benchmark," Klopp said afterwards. The result lifts Germany to third in Group A2 on four points, one behind the Netherlands and three behind leaders Greece, while Serbia remain bottom without a point from three matches.
