T Natarajan Returns to Sunrisers Hyderabad as Delhi Capitals Get Zeeshan Ansari in IPL 2027 Trade

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals have completed a player trade ahead of IPL 2027. Left-arm pacer T Natarajan returns to Sunrisers. Leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari moves to Delhi in exchange. The IPL confirmed the deal on Wednesday, October 14.

The money changes on both sides. Natarajan rejoins Sunrisers at a revised fee of Rs 5 crore. Delhi had bought him for Rs 10.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. Ansari goes to Delhi at his existing fee of Rs 40 lakh.

This is a homecoming for Natarajan. He played five seasons for Sunrisers, from 2020 to 2024, and he was their leading wicket-taker in IPL 2024. Delhi signed him in 2025, but the spell did not go to plan. He took just five wickets across his two seasons with the franchise.

Ansari is 26 years old. He made his IPL debut for Sunrisers in 2025 against Delhi, and he took 3 wickets on debut. He played 10 matches that season and finished with 6 wickets. He now gets a fresh start with the franchise he made his debut against.

The trade comes a day after Delhi officially announced Yuvraj Singh as assistant and batting coach. He will work under head coach Sourav Ganguly, whom the franchise unveiled a week earlier. Delhi had also completed a high-profile trade with Lucknow Super Giants earlier in the pre-season window. It brought Rishabh Pant back to the franchise in exchange for Kuldeep Yadav, who moved to Lucknow. Delhi are still chasing their first IPL title. They reached the final only once, in 2020, and failed to make the playoffs in the last two seasons.

Sunrisers, meanwhile, get an experienced bowler back in their pace attack. There are still several months before the new season. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has said that IPL 2027 may run from March 10 to May 15, 2027. Both franchises will now plan around their new additions.
