Inter Milan Beat Feyenoord 3-0 in Champions League as Bisseck, Esposito and Zielinski Score

Inter Milan beat Feyenoord 3-0 at De Kuip in Rotterdam on Tuesday, November 3, in Matchday 4 of the Champions League league phase. Yann Bisseck, Pio Esposito and Piotr Zielinski scored the goals. It was Inter's second win in a row in the competition. It gave their season in Europe a big lift after two defeats at the start.

Inter had lost their first two league-phase games, against Club Brugge and Real Madrid. They then beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0, and this win has taken them to six points. The mood in the squad was low before the trip. Inter had lost the Milan derby 3-1 to AC Milan on Saturday.

They answered in the eighth minute. Bisseck struck first with a superb effort after just 7 minutes and 42 seconds. It was the fastest Inter goal in this season's Champions League, and it was the German defender's first goal in European competition. Feyenoord had little answer to Inter's high press at the start.

The second goal came in the 34th minute. After a strong build-up, Pio Esposito took the ball on and curled a left-footed shot inside the far post to beat goalkeeper Ernst. It was a quality finish and gave Inter a 2-0 lead at half-time. Feyenoord became the team to concede the most goals in the first 15 minutes of a first half in this season's competition.

The third goal came early in the second half, in the 54th minute. From a throw-in, Nicolo Barella played the ball wide to Zielinski. The Poland midfielder carried it forward to the edge of the box and fired a powerful left-footed shot past Ernst at his near post. It was Barella's first assist of the Champions League season.

Feyenoord had more of the ball, with 53 per cent possession, and they matched Inter with 11 shots each. They had one big chance through Anis Hadj Moussa, but he could not take it. Inter were far more clinical. Sofascore gave Bisseck the top rating of the match at 8.2, and Zielinski scored 8.1.

Inter have now scored in each of their last eight Champions League games. Cristian Chivu's team face Stuttgart at home in their next game in the competition. Feyenoord, who lost 1-0 at Betis before this game, host Porto next.
