China Sweep Five of Six Wushu Sanda Golds as Iran's Mousavi Denies Clean Sweep

China dominated the wushu sanda finals at the Asian Games, winning five of six golds on offer across the men's and women's weight categories, with Iran's Soheil Mousavi the lone gold medallist to break their run.

China swept gold in men's 56kg (Jiaming Ou), 60kg (Sishuo Tang), 65kg (Chengjin Wang) and 70kg (Shuo Ma), as well as women's 52kg (Di Wu). Vietnam's Van Tam Dinh took silver at 56kg, while Hong Kong's Yu Hong Leung and Iran's Shoja Panahigelehkolaei and Erfan Moharrami Piraghom claimed silvers across the other men's weights.

In the men's 75kg final, Mousavi denied China a clean sweep, beating Kazakhstan's Abdurashid Abdullayev to gold. Iran's Sogand Sinkaeichetan took silver behind China's Di Wu in the women's 52kg. Bronze medals across the six weight classes were shared between Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Bangladesh, reflecting the sport's broad reach across the region.
