Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar Settle for Squash Mixed Doubles Bronze

Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar settled for bronze in squash mixed doubles at the Asian Games 2026, after a dramatic three-game semi-final defeat to Hong Kong's Lee Ka Yi and Tang Ming Hong.

The Indian pair lost the opener 10-11 in a tight, high-quality contest, before storming back to dominate the second game 11-2. In the decider, Hong Kong raced into a 5-2 lead before India fought back to level at 6-6, and moved to within a point of the final at 10-7, only for the Hong Kong pair to reel off four straight points to close it out 11-10.

It is a second Asian Games mixed doubles medal for the 39-year-old Chinappa, whose India pairing with Harinder Pal Sandhu won gold at Hangzhou 2023. India's squash campaign in Nagoya continues, with Abhay Singh facing Pakistan's Muhammad Irfan in the men's singles semi-final on Saturday.
