North Korea Win Seven of 11 Weightlifting Golds as China Take Three

North Korea has dominated weightlifting at the Asian Games. They have won seven of the 11 golds decided so far. China has three and Indonesia has one.

North Korea's golds. Ri Song-gum won the women's 49kg with a world record. Hyon Gyong Kang won the women's 53kg. Kwang Ok Oh won the women's 57kg. Myong Jin Pak won the men's 65kg. Won Ju Ri won the men's 70kg with a 349kg total, made up of a 151kg snatch and a 198kg clean and jerk. Kuk Hyang Song won the women's 69kg. Kwang Ryol Ro won the men's 85kg.

China's golds. Yang Yang won the men's 60kg. Liuyue Yang won the women's 61kg. Renxiu He won the women's 77kg.

Silver and bronze. North Korea's Un Chol Pang took silver at 60kg and Jin Hae Pak took silver at 61kg. China's Yueji He won silver at 65kg. Chinese Taipei won silver at 69kg through Wen-huei Chen. Kazakhstan took silver at 77kg and 85kg through Ayanat Zhumagali and Alexey Churkin. Thailand's Suratwadee Yodsarn won silver at 57kg. Japan's Masanori Miyamoto took silver at 70kg.

Bronze medals went to Thailand's Theerapong Silachai (60kg), Vietnam's Minh Tri Tran (65kg), Chinese Taipei's Guan-ling Chen (57kg) and Hsing-chun Kuo (61kg), the Philippines' Albert Ian Delos Santos (70kg), Bahrain's Ingrid Grueso (69kg), Iran's Reihaneh Karimi (77kg) and China's Shunnan Chen (85kg).
