Asian Games Medal Table: China Lead With 132 Golds, Japan Second on 172 Medals

China leads the Asian Games medal table by a wide margin after Monday's finals in Nagoya, with 132 golds, 53 silvers and 45 bronzes for a total of 230 medals.

Japan is second on 41 golds, but leads every country in silvers (68) and bronzes (63), for 172 medals in total. South Korea is third with 21 golds and 91 medals, followed by Uzbekistan (12 golds, 42 medals).

Three countries are level on nine golds. Kazakhstan is fifth with 13 silvers and 23 bronzes, 45 medals in all. Thailand is sixth with 29 medals, and Bahrain is seventh with 14 medals, eight of its nine golds coming in athletics. Iran (8 golds), North Korea (7), Malaysia (6) and Hong Kong (5) complete the top 11.

India is 12th with four golds, 20 silvers and 21 bronzes. Its 45 medals match Kazakhstan's and are more than Thailand's, Iran's and Malaysia's. Chinese Taipei has three golds but 34 medals, and Vietnam has one gold but 17 bronzes among its 19 medals.
