China Win Six Rowing Golds as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Iran Share the Rest

China dominated the sweep boats and sculling events at the Asian Games rowing regatta in Gifu, winning six golds across the men's and women's programme, with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Vietnam sharing the rest.

China's golds. Wanning Ren and Hongshan Zhu won the women's pair. Xinyu Zhang won the women's single sculls. Sixuan Wang and Shuangmei Shen won the women's double sculls. China also topped the podium in the women's quadruple sculls, the men's quadruple sculls and the men's four.

Kazakhstan's Vladislav Yakovlev and Ivan Chernukhin won the men's pair, denying China a clean sweep, with China taking silver and Uzbekistan bronze.

Uzbekistan's Shakhzod Nurmatov and Sobirjon Safaroliyev won the lightweight men's double sculls, with Indonesia taking silver and Hong Kong bronze. Hong Kong's Hin Chun Chiu won the lightweight men's single sculls ahead of Iran and South Korea.

In the lightweight women's events, Iran won both. Fatemeh Mojallaltopraghghale won the single sculls, with Hong Kong taking silver and Thailand bronze, while Kimia Zarei and Zeinab Norouzi Tazeh Kand won the double sculls ahead of Hong Kong and Japan.

Vietnam won the women's four, ahead of China and Uzbekistan.
