West Indies Post Record 405/7 With Three Centurions Against India

West Indies posted 405 for 7 against India in the second ODI at Guwahati, their highest-ever total in the format and the first time they have crossed 400 in an ODI innings.

The total was built on centuries from Amir Jangoo (114), Shai Hope (104) and John Campbell (101), making it only the sixth instance in ODI history of three centurions in the same innings, and the first time three West Indies batters have done it together. Hope and Jangoo added 182 for the third wicket, the platform that carried the total well past West Indies' previous record of 389 against England in 2019. Hope's century was his 20th in ODIs, taking him past Brian Lara's tally for West Indies.

India's bowling took a beating throughout, with debutant Auqib Nabi among those punished. West Indies eased off slightly at the death, finishing short of 420, but still left India needing 406 to win, which would be India's highest-ever successful ODI run chase if completed.
