Neeru Dhanda Becomes First Indian Woman to Win Individual Trap Medal With Gold

Neeru Dhanda became the first Indian woman to win an individual trap medal at the Asian Games, scoring 28/30 in the final to take gold in Nagoya.

She beat China's Sun Yunong, who took silver with 26/30, and Hajar Abdulmalik, who won bronze with 21/25. It is Neeru's second gold of these Games, after she and Kynan Chenai set an Asian record on their way to winning the trap mixed team title a few days earlier.

The result continues a strong campaign for India's shooting contingent at these Games, with Neeru's individual gold adding to the country's medal haul in the discipline alongside the earlier mixed air pistol and trap team golds.
