Uzbekistan Win Two More Boxing Golds, Thailand Take Women's 54kg

Uzbekistan won two more boxing golds at the Asian Games in Nagoya, taking the men's 60kg and 90kg titles, while Thailand won the women's 54kg final.

In the men's 90kg final, Uzbekistan beat China. Uzbekistan's second gold of the day came in the men's 60kg final, beating South Korea. In the women's 54kg final, Thailand beat North Korea to gold.

The results add to what has become a strong boxing campaign for Uzbekistan at these Games, with the country's men's squad now among the most successful in the discipline alongside Japan and Kazakhstan, who have also picked up multiple golds across the programme. China, beaten finalists in the 90kg category, have otherwise had a mixed boxing campaign, with a gold and two silvers across the week's finals so far.

With these results, the bulk of the boxing programme's finals have now been decided in Nagoya, spanning weight categories across both the men's and women's draws. The sport has produced a wide spread of gold medallists at these Games, with no single nation dominating the medal table the way China and Japan have in several of the other combat disciplines.
