Kumkum Mohod Wins India's First Individual Recurve Archery Gold in Shoot-Off Thriller
Kumkum Mohod won India's first individual recurve archery gold at the Asian Games, beating South Korea's Oh Yejin in a shoot-off to claim the women's title in Nagoya.
The 17-year-old from Amravati arrives at these Games off the back of a breakout season, having already beaten Oh Yejin and her Olympic champion teammates to win recurve mixed team gold with Dhiraj Bommadevara at an Archery World Cup stage in Antalya earlier this year, and claiming women's team gold in Shanghai before that. China's Huang Yuwei took bronze in the Asian Games final.
The win adds to a strong Games for India's recurve archers. India's women's team had already won team gold earlier in the week, while the mixed team and men's team both settled for silver, finishing behind China and South Korea respectively.
