Arundhati Choudhary Wins Gold in Women's 70kg Boxing at CWG 2026

Arundhati Choudhary won gold in the women's 70kg boxing final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. She beat England's Chantelle Reid 5-0 by unanimous decision, with four judges scoring it 30-27 and one 29-28 in her favour.

Arundhati controlled the contest from the opening bell, never letting Reid settle in front of the home crowd. Her clean combinations, sharp counter-punching and disciplined defence saw her edge every round on all five scorecards, closing out a dominant three-round performance.

She reached the final by beating defending champion Rosie Eccles of Wales in a close split-decision semifinal, using composed counter-punching to edge past the experienced Welsh boxer.

The gold caps off a strong Commonwealth Games boxing campaign for India on the day, with Arundhati becoming the fifth Indian boxer to win gold at these Games.
