Subhadeep Ghosh Named India's New Fielding Coach

India have a new fielding coach. Subhadeep Ghosh takes over the role, replacing T Dilip, whose contract was not renewed after India's tour of Zimbabwe.

Ghosh's first job with the senior team comes straight away. He joins the coaching staff for India's two-match Test series in Sri Lanka this August.

The 57-year-old played 17 first-class matches between 1994 and 2004, turning out for Assam and Railways. He later coached the Assam Senior Men's Team and has also worked at the National Cricket Academy. His resume includes stints with India A and the women's team, plus IPL spells with Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Ghosh joins a support staff already reshaped this year. He comes in after the exits of Dilip and Ryan ten Doeschate, and now works alongside batting coach Sitanshu Kotak and bowling coach Morne Morkel under head coach Gautam Gambhir.

The Assam Cricket Association welcomed the appointment, calling it a proud moment for the state's cricketing community and a boost for young players and coaches in the region.
