Harry Brook Stays No. 1 in ICC Test Batting Rankings as Root and Head Move Up and Bavuma Slips to Fourth

Harry Brook remains the No. 1 Test batter in the latest ICC Men's rankings, updated on Wednesday, November 4. The England batter holds 861 rating points. He leads the table by 45 points.

Joe Root is the top mover. He rises from third to second on 816 points. That keeps two England batters at the head of the list. Travis Head also gains a place. He moves from fourth to third on 799 points. His rating is lower than before, but Temba Bavuma's fall opened the space.

Temba Bavuma slips from second to fourth. His rating drops from 818 to 793. He had jumped from sixth to second in the last update, so this is a quick reversal. Steven Smith holds fifth place on 790. He is only three points behind Bavuma.

The gap after the top five is wide. Rachin Ravindra is sixth on 740. That is 50 points below Smith. Rishabh Pant (713), Daryl Mitchell (710), Shubman Gill (709) and Kamindu Mendis (706) follow in seventh to tenth place. None of them changed position.

Aiden Markram climbs from 12th to 11th with 705 points. He scored 78 in the first innings of the Cape Town Test against Australia. Yashasvi Jaiswal falls from 11th to 12th on 697. Rahmat Shah is 13th on 693. Dinesh Chandimal (689) and Babar Azam (684) complete the top 15.

Three Indian batters sit in the top 12. India and New Zealand play a two-Test series from November 19 in Wellington. Pant, Gill and Jaiswal will face Ravindra and Mitchell there, so the table could move again soon. The full top 15, with ratings and trends, is on our Test batting rankings page.
