India's women's badminton team opened their Asian Games 2026 campaign with a straight-rubbers 3-0 win over Kazakhstan at Nagoya Rainbow Hall, advancing to the quarter-finals.

PV Sindhu got India off to a strong start, beating Kamila Smagulova 21-7, 21-9. Unnati Hooda and Tanvi Sharma followed up with straight-game wins of their own to complete the clean sweep.

The result sends India through to the quarter-final round of the women's team event, with the squad looking to build on the momentum from a dominant opening tie.
