Suchika Tariyal Reaches Semifinal, Assures India's First MMA Medal

Suchika Tariyal has guaranteed India's first-ever Asian Games medal in mixed martial arts, advancing to the women's traditional -60kg semifinal at the 2026 Games.

Tariyal beat Mongolia's Altanchimeg Baigalmaa in the quarter-final at Anjo City Gymnasium to book her place in the last four, assuring at least a bronze medal. MMA made its Asian Games debut at these Games in Aichi-Nagoya.

Tariyal will now turn her attention to the semifinal, with a place in the gold medal bout on the line.
