Lakshya Sen got things started with a hard-fought win over Kodai Naraoka, coming through 2-1 (11-21, 21-4, 21-19) after dropping the opener. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty then extended the lead in doubles, edging Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi 2-0 (21-18, 24-22) in a tight contest. Ayush Shetty sealed the tie with a straight-games win over Koki Watanabe.

The result avenges India's group-stage form and sets up a semifinal test as the team chases its first team gold in the event.
