Sresht Raju Mantena Helps Team Asia Win Team Jumping Gold at Youth Olympics

India's Sresht Raju Mantena is a gold medallist at the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026. He rode for Team Asia, which won the team jumping event on 5 November. The team finished on 17 penalties. Team Inter America took silver on 21 penalties. Team Africa won bronze on 29 penalties.

Here is the podium for the event.

Team Asia won by 4 penalties over Team Inter America. They finished 12 penalties clear of Team Africa. In jumping, a lower penalty score is better. Penalties are added for knocked fences and refusals, so a low total means a clean ride.

This is a mixed team event. Riders from different countries come together to form each team. Team Asia has four riders from four different nations. Mantena rode alongside Ruirui Sun of China, Alya Adnan Awadh Almheiri of the UAE and Nusrtdinov Zayan Fatih of Indonesia. The Games use mixed teams in some events on purpose, so young athletes meet and compete with people from other countries.

Medals in mixed-NOC team events are listed under the mixed team on the medal tally. That means this gold is not counted in India's own tally. India's medal count stays at 2 silver and 4 bronze. Mantena's gold is still a proud moment for Indian equestrian sport. The table below shows India's own medals, which are counted in the tally.
