Ishan Kishan's Blazing 80 Powers India to 124-Run Thrashing of Sri Lanka, Sets Up Final Against Pakistan

India thrashed Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the 2nd Semi-Final of the 2026 Asian Games to book their place in the final, after posting a dominant total and then bowling Sri Lanka out for just 45.

Put in to bat first at Korogi Sports Park, India raced to 169 for 7 in their 20 overs. Ishan Kishan was the standout with an unbeaten 80 off 46 balls laced with 4 fours and 5 sixes, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set the tone up top with a rapid 38. Sahan Arachchige and Tharindu Ratnayake picked up two wickets apiece for Sri Lanka, but couldn't stem the flow of runs in the back half.

In reply, Sri Lanka's chase never got going. Jasprit Bumrah struck twice in his opening spell, and Abhishek Sharma came on to grab 2 for 2 as the innings unravelled under pressure, with three batters run out along the way. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 45 in just 9.5 overs, handing India a emphatic 124-run win.

India will now face Pakistan in the final on October 3 at the same venue, with Pakistan having won their semi-final against Bangladesh by 6 wickets in a rain-shortened contest.
