Asmita Dey Wins Gold in Women's 48kg Judo at CWG 2026

Asmita Dey won the gold medal in the women's 48kg judo category at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, defeating Heidi Quach in the final.

The final was tightly contested, tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time before Asmita edged ahead in Golden Score to seal the win 2-1.

Asmita had earlier booked her spot in the final with a thrilling Golden Score victory over Scotland's Sumer Shaw in the semifinal, winning 1-0 (Yuko) in a contest that lasted 6 minutes and 27 seconds.
