Jaismine Lamboria Wins Gold in Women's 57kg Boxing at CWG 2026

Jaismine Lamboria won gold in the women's 57kg boxing final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. She beat reigning champion Michaela Walsh of Northern Ireland 5-0 on a unanimous decision.

Lamboria stayed patient through a cautious opening round, edging it 3-2 on a split decision. She then took control in the closing rounds, landing the cleaner and more precise punches as Walsh struggled to change the momentum. The two boxers embraced in the ring after the result.

This is India's second boxing gold of the day, coming right after Preeti Pawar's win in the women's 54kg final. It's also India's second straight boxing gold at these Games.

Lamboria is the reigning world champion and current World No. 1 in the 57kg category. She had won bronze in this event at the 2022 Birmingham Games, so this gold marks a big step up. She reached the final with a dominant RSC win over Lesotho's Rapelang Maselela in the semifinal.
