Lovlina Borgohain Wins Silver in Women's 75kg Boxing at CWG 2026
Lovlina Borgohain won silver in the women's 75kg boxing final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. She lost 4-1 on a split decision to Australia's Emma-Sue Greentree in a tightly fought contest.
Lovlina had a bye straight into the semifinals due to the small five-boxer draw in her category, then beat Tuvalu's Tarona Taafaki 5-0 to reach the final. In the gold medal bout, she traded evenly with Greentree in a tactical fight, landing a few sharp shots of her own, but the Australian's forward pressure and more effective scoring punches edged the rounds in her favour.
The silver is Lovlina's first Commonwealth Games medal. The Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist and former world champion has now won medals at every major multi-sport event she's eligible for, including the Olympics and Asian Games.
