Sakshi Chaudhary Wins Gold in Women's 51kg Boxing at CWG 2026

Sakshi Chaudhary won gold in the women's 51kg boxing final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. She beat England's Ruby White 5-0 by unanimous decision.

Sakshi controlled the contest from the opening bell, using her superior height and reach to dictate the pace. She took the first round unanimously, then tightened her grip in the second, where three judges scored it 10-9 in her favour and one gave her a dominant 10-8. She carried that advantage into the final round, staying disciplined behind her sharp left jab to keep White under pressure throughout.

This is India's third boxing gold of the day, following wins from Preeti Pawar and Jaismine Lamboria earlier in the session. It equals India's best-ever boxing performance at a single Commonwealth Games, matching the three-gold tallies from New Delhi 2010, Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022.

Sakshi had a big year leading into these Games. She became the first Indian woman to win gold at the World Boxing Cup, beating the USA's Yoseline Perez in Astana, and also won gold at the Grand Prix in Usti nad Labem. She is a former World Junior champion and two-time World Youth champion.
