Jack Grealish Returns to Everton on Second Season-Long Loan From Man City

Jack Grealish is returning to Everton for a second season-long loan from Manchester City, with the deal agreed and formalities being completed on transfer deadline day.

The 30-year-old spent last season on Merseyside, scoring two goals and adding six assists in 22 appearances before a stress fracture curtailed his campaign in January. Grealish remained with Everton throughout his rehabilitation, but returned to Manchester for pre-season and has made two substitute appearances for City this term, in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal and the 2-1 win over Bournemouth on the opening weekend.

The move comes at the same time as City agreed a deal worth up to £65m to sign Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, with the two transfers negotiated in parallel though confirmed as separate transactions. Grealish, a £100m signing from Aston Villa in 2021, has largely fallen out of Pep Guardiola's plans in recent seasons despite winning three Premier League titles and the Champions League during his time at the Etihad.

His return gives David Moyes' side a familiar and productive attacking option back in the building, with Everton hoping for a fully fit season from the England international after last term's injury disruption.
