England Drop Brydon Carse for Final Pakistan Test Amid Police Investigation

England have left Brydon Carse out of their squad for the third and final Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston, with the seamer remaining under police investigation following an arrest outside a Derby nightclub on August 22.

Carse, 31, was already omitted from the second Test at Lord's after Derbyshire police confirmed they were investigating allegations of assault. He has continued playing for Durham, taking match figures of 4-95 against Gloucestershire, but was left out of their subsequent fixture against Northamptonshire and has not been recalled to the national side. Uncapped pacer Sonny Baker, who replaced him for the Lord's Test, retains his place, while Matthew Fisher is the only change to an otherwise settled squad as England chase a 3-0 series sweep.

Pakistan, meanwhile, have taken drastic action after being thrashed in the first two Tests, dropping seven players including Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha, calling up five uncapped cricketers, and parting ways with head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed, with white-ball coach Mike Hesson stepping in for the decider starting September 9.
