Harry Brook Becomes First Full Member Captain With Two T20I Centuries in a Calendar Year

Harry Brook has become the first captain from a Full Member nation to score two T20I centuries in the same calendar year, after his unbeaten 114 against Sri Lanka followed his maiden format hundred scored earlier this year against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup.

Brook's first century as captain came in February, a memorable 100 off 51 balls in the Super Eights that helped England reach an unprecedented fifth consecutive World Cup semi-final, a knock that was itself the first century by a captain in the tournament's history. His second, an explosive 114 not out off 49 balls in Southampton this week, underlined the remarkable consistency he has shown since being handed England's white-ball captaincy following Jos Buttler's resignation after the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The milestone adds to an extraordinary run of leadership form for the 27-year-old, who has already collected Test centuries, ODI hundreds and now multiple T20I tons while juggling captaincy responsibilities across all three formats. With England's white-ball revival continuing to gather pace under his leadership, Brook's record-breaking year shows little sign of slowing down as the side builds toward next year's assignments.
